Until they both come to Us, he will say: “Woe to me! If there had been a distance of two sunrises between me and you! Then what an evil comrade you are!”
As told in verse 83: 7, the ledger of the Arabic Quran-reading Fujjar—disbelievers—is in Sijjeen of Hellfire. It is their Jinn comrades residing in their hearts who retain them in the status of Hellfire’s inmates by preventing them from Adhikr—the Ticket to Paradise—which is essential for recording the deeds in the ledger Illiyyeen of Paradise as told in verse 83: 18. The man/woman, at the time of his/her death, will wail individually: “If there had been a distance of two points of sunrises between me and my Jinn Soulmate!” In a day, there are two sunrises and two sunsets in each hemisphere, as explained in verse 37: 5. That is why, without saying in this verse “a distance of east and west,” it is said “a distance of two sunrises.” See explanation 14: 22; 41: 37; and 55: 17.
